Admittedly, a bit late, but nevertheless I wish a Happy New Year to my readers. All two of you. The best Christmas present I received was a promotion at work. It’s kind of strange because I don’t start until the 15th. Either way, it’s a good move and one I’m fairly pleased with. Of course I say this having had one of the most horribly unproductive days at work ever. A blinding headache dulling my faculties for the better part of three hours didn’t help at all. Every time I thought to get some Advil or Tylenol, I’d remember that I needed to get the task currently in front of me done and keep trudging. This happened about once every fifteen minutes. After downing three generic Tylenol, the headache subsided long enough for me to realize that my lack of production would mean my managers would speak with me. Nothing serious, though I could hear my name mentioned constantly in the background. This does wonders for one’s concentration. Wow. I actually felt/still feel ashamed and as though I’m letting everyone down who believed in me and voted for my promotion. That hurts more than the headache.

Next week must and will be better.
