Does your airbag light often turn on unexpectedly?  It is usually due to the connections for the sensor in the seat (normally driver-side).  There is a tube of some stuff you can buy called Stabilant 22 which has some particularly interesting chemical properties and how it handles conductivity of electrical signals.

Also, there was a post on the BMW forums roadfly about tracing the wires and a possible frayed wire.  That is something you should be able to do easily with a small mirror and some time.  Having a Bently auto manual will help too.  You can get them for a reasonable price on amazon.com.  If they only came in PDF format, that would be fantastic.  I’d give a co-worker’s right arm for one.

So Winding Road has a very well written article regarding two major car companies releasing the same information on the same day. Guess what one of the car companies was. Guess which one won due to clarity.

Ye Gods. Autoweek is reporting BMW is developing a Z2. The original article at Auto Bild is still up.

They gave the original Z3 (the 1996 Roadster) a 1.9 liter engine. People complained it was under-powered, etc. I suppose the power to weight ratio could have been better but I love my car! Hopefully the Z2’s entry engine won’t suck. Here are some pictures grabbed from various places:
